Batter Up!

We got Max a t-ball set yesterday because he kept using his golf clubs as baseball bats.
Jeff spent the morning trying to teach Max the finer points of baseball. It was pretty humorous to watch.
He's actually starting to get the hang of it. We are struggling a little with it though b/c he's a lefty and we aren't so we have to show him everything backwards.
We were backwards and he was upside down (notice the bat) but eventually everyone figured it out, I think. Who knows, maybe he's a big leaguer in the making. His Paw Paw will be so proud!

Showing His Butt Already

We had another ultrasound done this week to take a look at Baby Zack. Unfortunately we couldn't see much of the little guy b/c all he wanted to do was show off his little butt. The tech kept trying to get him to turn around so we could see his face or hands or anything, but he would just roll back over and stick his bum straight up in the air. I'm sure this is an indication of his personality already...what am I going to do with two??
Other than that everything looked good. She said Zack is either a little ahead of schedule or a fat little baby because he's measuring at about 4.5lbs already and I still have 2 months to go! She must be wrong. I specifically ordered another small baby. Some of you may be okay with 8.5-9.5lb babies, but 6lbs was great with Max and I was looking forward to that again. Honestly though if he's healthy I can't ask for much more.
So when do you think Max's little brother is going to outsize him?!?

No one will shoot me

Jeff has had a cold since Sunday and neither he nor the cold will go away. Tuesday night Max decided that he was going to do the stomach bug thing, we're talking rebellion of the entire digestive tract. Once again, the virus and the boy refuse to leave. Today the two invaders have joined forces and we are all getting bits and pieces of all they have to offer.
I would have called my mom to complain, but she is off on some trip of a lifetime thing (an Alaskan cruise) so she has been deemed useless. I know that when your kids are sick you are suppose to love them anyway, but if one more leaky thing comes out of that kid and on to me, I'm going to have to love him from a distance.
My husband is being a saint about this so I can't complain about him, (although for some reason I find that annoying). We either all have to pull through this by Wednesday (Jeff's next scheduled trip) or die b/c I'm sure I can't do this much longer, especially on my own.
I wonder which virus will kill me first, since no one is willing to shoot me!

YIKES!!!

Common Name: Desert Hairy Scorpion

Scientific Name: Hadrurus arizonensis

Size: Up to six inches (15cm) in total length

This is what Max and his little friend found in the little friend's backyard yesterday!! Fortunately it was dead and neither of them had actually picked it up or anything. They were just playing in some rock by the water spigot and uncovered it. I don't think they even noticed it was there. Little friend's mommy and I sure did though and quickly removed the guilty party and relocated the boys.
It really bothered me how easily this scenerio could have been different. I know that the scorpion sting isn't deadly, but it would definately be worse than a bee or wasp sting. In the 2+ years I've lived out in the desert, this was the first scorpion I've seen--although I'm not the outdoorsy type who wanders any farther than the mailbox. I don't like such things invading my perimeters.
I'm just glad that it wasn't my house (just down the street though) and now I really might consider cleaning up my yard so such things aren't tempted to wander this direction.

One more reason

There has always been a list a mile long that disqualifies me from being Mother of the Year. Here is one more. Max was in the bathroom with me while I was fixing my hair this morning. He was behind me playing with a variety of stuff and I was being completely oblivious to everything but my hair until I hear, "I got some lotion. I got blue lotion." It took me several seconds to realize that I don't have any blue lotion. So what was he playing with? Yes, the toilet bowl cleaner!! Fortunately he wasn't drinking it or anything like that, he was just rubbing it all over as one would do with blue lotion. Good thing the stuff doesn't stain...oh wait...it does!

Going to the park

Yesterday Max and I decided it was a good day to go to the park. Before we left I told him to go tell his Dad goodbye and that we were going to the park. Max walks past Jeff and says,"See ya Dad. Going to the park to find some girls!"
He is a glutton for punishment I tell ya.

Pregnancy Update...Proceed with Caution

I thought I'd take a moment and post an update on my parasitic activity of my lower abdomen...I mean my pregnancy. Again I want to go on record as saying that I love kids and I am very excited to have another little boy in my life, but there HAS to be a better way to get him here.
On top of the nausea and vomiting (which I still have) I now get to delight in the joys of heartburn, swollen feet, and backaches. And let's not forget about the stretching, yes this is the lovely time when the baby is trying to see how fast he can grow leaving the majority of my body to try and stretch, spread and pull at the same rate.
On a happier note, I guess, my doctor is glad that I am finally gaining some weight. I put on 4lbs this past month. Baby boy is finally starting to get fat!
Now on to my biggest pregnancy dilemma. This kid is going to need a name and Jeff and I are having issues with this. We both agree that Zack is a good name (spelling to be determined later...Zac, Zack, Zach, etc) but that's as far as we can agree. He is still voting that Zacchaeus Xavier is it. I'm still maintaining that's not even a real name. I vote Zachary and I don't even care what the middle name is. Someone help me out here. If the kid gets named Zacchaeus my mother has vowed never to speak to us again. Although....
